Heckman's Island

Heckman's Island is situated on the south side of Mahone Bay in the county of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada. The island is approximately 5km by 2km at its widest points. The western end of the island affords many sheltered anchorages and is home to a growing community of full time residents. The eastern half of the island is undeveloped. The Rackets to the north east of Heckman's Island are an excellent area for sea kayaking where many seals, bird life and the occasional otter can be seen amongst the hundred or so small islands.
